FAQs

Why do residues and films appear on the surface of my prints?

Screen: Insufficient shading around the screen, light leakage to the non-printing area caused by curing;low contrast of the screen, resulting in no output image of part of the screen area may also have light through, although the intensity is not high, but will gradually accumulate to form flakes or flocculent.

Resin: part of the resin is color screen resin, when printing on the black and white screen printer, the light intensity is too strong, and residues are likely to appear when printing larger models. It is recommended to replace the black and white screen special resin or adjust the light source power down.

Slice: If there is no support for the hanging position and falling, if there is no bottom on the release film, it will accumulate into more pieces with the printing process.

Temperature: the temperature is too low without insulation, and the resin activity is low, it is recommended to open the air conditioning 25-35 ℃ for printing.

Why is the printout not dry?

Post-treatment: Insufficient alcohol concentration or cleaning with water before cleaning , resulting in oil-water reaction whitening or cleaning is not clean, it is recommended to use more than 95% concentration of alcohol or use IPA cleaning, the use of ultrasonic cleaning 3-5min, viscous resin should increase the cleaning time and times; cleaning after not doing post-curing surface is not dry, it needs to be post-cured untilthe surface is not sticky , If the post-curing time is too long, the surface may turn white.

Cutting: exposure time is too long, resulting in a surface too bright, normal exposure surface close to matte.

Light source: part of the light source is not uniform light, may lead to inconsistent exposure of different areas, resulting in surface cleaning is not clean.

What should I do if the separation occurs between the layer and the layer?

Leveling: platform and screen leveling four corners are not level or too far away, should be re-leveling, A4 paper from all corners of the draw resistance consistent.

Light source: part of the light source is not uniform light, which may lead to inconsistent degree of exposure in different areas.

Cutting: exposure time is not enough, the layers are not fully cured, resulting in separation, layer thickness and exposure does not correspond, such as 0.1mm layer thickness using 0.025mm layer thickness exposure parameters, separation occurs, should be appropriate to increase the exposure time; lifting speed is faster, the separation force is greater resulting in separation; less support or thin, the top surface can not be fully supported, resulting in partial print failure, separation between layers.

Temperature: the temperature is too low without insulation, resin activity is low, it is recommended to open the air conditioning 25-35 ℃ printing.

What if the resin has slurry settling issues?

Light curing resin, not used for a long time, color paste is easy to precipitate, will lead to light resin color; If there is a slurry settlement problem, it can be solved by the following methods:

1. Heat the resin in a 60-80℃ oven or other heating container for 30 minutes.

2. After heating for 30 minutes, immediately take out the resin and shake well for about 1 minute.

3. Pour out the resin and observe whether the resin and the original resin are the same color at this time. If the color of the resin is still light, continue to shake it well.

Why do holes appear in the model?

Screen: There may be black spots on the screen due to liquid leakage, the area can not be properly exposed; there is solidified dirty resin on the screen that affects the release.

Resin: The resin itself is easy to produce bubbles, there will be a small number of small bubbles appear in the top of the model, you can try to pad a corner of the printer to play a role in eliminating bubbles in the printing process.

What to do if the printed model is separated from the support or some support structures are missing or damaged?

Screen: Cured dirty resin on the screen affects the release; or the screen leaks liquid causing the area to be unprintable or the degree of molding is reduced.

Light source: Some light sources are not uniform, which may lead to inconsistent exposure in different areas.

Resin: Resin viscosity is too high, it will lead to an increase in the release force, making the support and model separation, it is recommended to properly reduce the lifting speed and increase the lifting height.

Model: sudden changes in the cross-sectional area of the model, such as a small area to a large area, increased release force, single-layer deformation, When placing it, try to avoid sudden changes in cross-sectional area and large areas directly supported.

Slicing: insufficient exposure time, so that the model is not cured enough, resulting in support is too thin and too soft, During the stripping process, the support is separated from the model under a larger release force, it is recommended to test the exact exposure time before printing; support less thin, resulting in support can not pull the model, separation occurs, it is recommended to thicken encryption; lifting speed is too fast, there may be a larger release force, making support and model separation.

Separation: If the release film is worn out, the release force is not enough, resulting in the separation of the model paste bottom and support.

Temperature: the temperature is too low without insulation, and the resin activity is low, it is recommended to open air conditioning 25-35 ℃  for printing.

How to deal with sticker base & deformation?

Screen: Cured dirty resin on the screen affects the release.

Light source: Some light sources are not uniform light, which may lead to inconsistent exposure in different areas.

Leveling: The platform and the screen leveling four corners are not level or too far away, should be re-leveled,The resistance of the A4 paper drawn from each corner is the same.

Platform:  There are uncleaned impurities on the forming platform; the forming platform itself is not flat; the forming platform is worn.

Slicing: the bottom exposure time is not enough, increasing the bottom exposure time to improve the adhesion of the model and the bottom plate, the bottom exposure is 8-10 times the ordinary exposure time; lifting speed is too fast, the release force increases significantly.

Release: If the release film wears out and ages, affecting the release force, resulting in a sticky bottom, you can try to replace the release film

Model: the model is placed, no drainage hole is added at the bottom, vacuum pulling is generated during the clamping process, clamping force plus vacuum pressure leads to detachment; sudden changes in the cross-sectional area of the model, such as small area to large area, clamping force increases, single-layer deformation, and vacuum pulling and sudden changes in cross-sectional area should be avoided as much as possible when placing.

How to deal with Z-axis direction appears in the horizontal pattern?

Machinery: Z-axis line rail or silk lubrication is not enough, stuck and other problems lead to z-axis movement problems, it is recommended to maintain and oil regularly.

Model: The model is placedwithout a drain hole at the bottom. the vacuum pulling is generated during the clamping process, and the clamping force plus vacuum pressure leads to single-layer deformation; the cross-sectional area of the model changes abruptly, such as small area to large area, the clamping force increases and single-layer deformation occurs. Vacuum pulling and abrupt change of cross-sectional area should be avoided as much as possible when placing.

Slicing: the number of support is not enough or too thin, the support is not enough for the model pulling force, the support should be thickened as much as possible, and at the same time, more support should be added to stabilize the model at the cross grain.

What if the size is incorrect?

Size and design size have large deviation

Slicing: Too short exposure time will cause the size to be too small and unable to form, too long exposure time will cause the size to be too large, and the details will be lost. It is recommended to test the exposure time before printing when using a new machine and resin; for inner hole parts, due to Resin shrinkage problem, you can adjust the tolerance compensation setting in the slice.

Light source: part of the light source is not uniform light, which may cause inconsistent exposure and size in different areas.

Exposure time calibration

Different resin and different printing have different exposure time, Generally, 5 thin columns are selected and measured with a vernier caliper. Use a vernier caliper to measure the 0.6mm elevation (size error within ±0.03mm) as the standard. If it is too small, the exposure will be increased. Larger reduces the exposure, generally the color screen adjusts the exposure range of 0.5-1.0s, the black and white screen adjusts the exposure range of 0.1-0.5s )

What about cracking of parts occurs?

Post-treatment: alcohol is not completely cleaned inside the hollow or external residual resin, resulting in reaction and deformation, for the hollow parts, you should try to increase the internal cleaning time; cleaning is not done after the completion of post-curing or curing time is too long, cleaning is recommended immediately after the low medium light intensity curing for a few minutes, conditions can be done to the hollow internal curing to improve the strength and prevent the impact of moisture factors.

Model: model hollow wall thickness is too thin (<3mm), the strength is not enough, the wall thickness should try to increase the wall thickness, while increasing the internal filling density.

Slicing: insufficient exposure time, so that the model is not cured enough.
